With the start of school, life has gotten a lot busier. Balancing classes, sports, extracurriculars, and friends can get stressful fast. Good time management skills are necessary to stay on top of everything. Prioritizing is key and can be done by making a list. At the beginning of the week, write down everything you need to get done and every activity you have. Make a list of your goals and intentions for the week. Next, organize it into your schedule. Keep in mind which things need to be finished sooner, as well as which things will take longer to do. Those should come first. This can also be done with things that come up daily. Don’t over-schedule yourself, though. If you have no time to relax, you quickly become tired. This throws off your ability to get things done. If you already feel overworked with a busy week of school and sports, consider spending a day at home to recharge. Anything from your list that does not fit into your schedule should be added to your list for the next week. If you can get your plans and ideas out of your head and onto paper, you can alleviate some of the stress that comes with being a busy teenager. Then you can focus on the things you enjoy!
